Beth Causley Art and Photography

I’ve been photographing since I was ten. I always thought that photography would remain a hobby… until the year I backpacked on my own around Ireland with my camera in one arm and my sketch book in the other. I shot six rolls of film in less than a week. Getting them developed and seeing the pictures I had created gave me an amazing feeling and I knew I was hooked.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada I moved to Glasgow, Scotland for six years where I continued to travel the world and then moved to rural Alberta for four. Something kept calling me, so, in the summer of 2011 I struck out on my own to travel in my jeep around Canada. It was an exhilarating experience being on my own and I took thousands of pictures and saw things some people only dream about.

I’ve worked hard over the last year and it’s paid off – I’ve been able to work with some amazing graphic designers, the David Suzuki Foundation and have contributed photography to various tourism publications. I’ve published my first book and can’t wait to do more.

Now my life involves my two great passions: travel and photography. I often find myself saying “I can’t believe that I am lucky enough to do something I love so much.”
